Huckabee Dental is a participating practice in Dentistry From The Heart. Along with several volunteers, Huckabee Dental provided over $65,000 in free dental care the last two years. This event is held once a year, this year it was on Friday, February 10th, 2012. Dentistry From the Heart is an annual event that dentists from all over the country participate in to bring dental care to those in need. This was Huckabee Dental's 4th Annual Event.

In 2010, the record snowfall forced us to postpone our Dentistry From The Heart event until April. Nevertheless, our 2nd annual event was still a huge success with over 130 patients treated and over $65,000 in free dental services provided. In 2011, the turnout was even bigger, and we treated even more people at our 4th Annual Dentistry from the Heart in 2012. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the many volunteers who spent countless hours organizing and working this year. A very special thanks to Lisa Ross with LJR Group for her tireless efforts in getting the word out to local charities, religious organizations, and media outlets.

Huckabee Dental Announces its 4th Annual Dentistry From the Heart

Southlake, TX- January 10th, 2012- On Friday, February 10th, 2012, Huckabee Dental in Southlake, TX is hosted its annual charitable event, Dentistry From The Heart. Dr. Tim Huckabee and his colleagues provided free dental treatment all day on a first-come, first-served basis. Dentistry From The Heart aims to provide dental treatment for adults that are uninsured, under-insured, or unemployed. At last year’s event, Huckabee Dental provided over $65,000 in free dental care to patients from Tarrant County and greater North Texas.

Dr. Huckabee says, “Our intent this year is to be prepared to see as many people as we can without reservations, and that’s the heart of the event—opening our hearts and serving those in need.” Free treatments are not limited to those living in Southlake. Patients from surrounding areas were welcome.  One patient from last year said, “My wife and I have no dental insurance. We both needed extractions, and Dentistry From The Heart is a real blessing.”

The media was invited to join the hundreds of volunteers and patients at Huckabee Dental on February 10, 2012 to spread free smiles across Dallas-Fort Worth through Dentistry From The Heart located at 505 West Southlake Boulevard, Southlake, Texas. Registration began at 6am, but with limited spots available and time constraints, patients were encouraged to come earlier. Patients must be 18 or older with valid photo ID. Services provided were limited to cleanings, extractions, and fillings. People with certain conditions, such as pregnancy, artificial joints, some heart conditions, or people on blood thinners will be unable to be treated.

Dentistry From The Heart (DFTH) is a national non-profit organization dedicated to providing free dental care to those who need it. Every year, individual dentists and practices across the country donate their time and resources to host their own DFTH events. In support our of DFTH partners, the organization serves to recruit, unify, and promote events on a national level.
