Tell Me More About Sedation Dentistry! |
|
|
We have several levels of sedation to meet your needs.
First before performing any treatment that is potentially uncomfortable, you will be given a local anesthetic to prevent pain.
We have Laughing Gas (Nitrous Oxide) available in all our treatment rooms. Unlike other dentists we never charge if you want to have "Relaxation Gas" at your appointments. Laughing gas makes most people feel relaxed and happy.
For those who have a higher anxiety level we offer two other choices:
Oral Sedation is a pill that is given about one hour prior to your appointment. Patients having oral sedation are deeply relaxed and often have no memory of the treatment. Most dentists promoting sedation are offering oral sedation. Oral sedation works very well about 80% of the time.
IV Sedation is often our preferred method of sedation in this office. With I.V. your doses are controlled so you get just the right amount of medication, keeping you comfortable during the procedure. You will have no memory of the treatment if that is your goal. Both Dr. Huckabee and Dr. White are certified and licensed for IV sedation. Fewer than 3% of general dentists in have IV certification.
