Older black couple who are smiling because of the dental implants that make their smiles look perfect, and they received as part of the restorative dentistry services at Huckabee Dental in Southlake, TX.

Restorative dentistry focuses on repairing problems in your mouth with treatments like fillings, crowns and dental implants. When your teeth are under attack, restorative dentistry is designed to help bring back your healthy smile.

If you are experiencing tooth pain, chipped teeth, tooth loss, or gum disease, you need the care of a restorative dentist at Huckabee Dental.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

For small cavities, tooth colored fillings are an excellent choice. To protect your overall health, Huckabee Dental only uses mercury-free fillings to treat cavities. Not only are they safer, but they’re also more attractive.

Gentle Root Canal Therapy

If your tooth is suffering from a large crack, cavity, severe pain, or an abscess, our restorative dentist at Huckabee Dental may recommend root canal therapy to save it.

If the idea of a root canal makes you feel nervous, don’t let it! Root canal therapy is a relatively painless procedure. Your comfort is always our priority during every restorative dental procedure. Once your root canal is completed, a dental crown will be placed to protect your tooth from further damage.

Dental Crowns

Our Southlake dental office offers full-coverage crowns, made from luminous porcelain. These restorations offer beautiful aesthetic results that protect your natural tooth from further damage or decay. They’re also perfect for topping off your implants.

Porcelain Dental Bridge

If you are missing more than one tooth in an area, our restorative dentist at Huckabee Dental might suggest a bridge as a tooth replacement option.

A porcelain dental bridge is used to replace one or more missing teeth and is anchored to natural teeth (called abutments) on either end of the gap in your smile. A porcelain dental bridge will allow you to improve your smile and stabilize that area of your mouth, allowing you to smile with confidence again.

Dental Implants

Are you missing one or all of your teeth? Huckabee Dental is one of the only dental practices in the Southlake area that surgically places dental implants in the office, instead of referring you elsewhere for the surgical phase.

Using a titanium post, these artificial “tooth roots” act as a secure support to permanently anchor your new tooth, bridge or denture.

Problems with dental implants are rare, but they do happen. If you notice your dental implant has loosened, is causing your gum to swell, or the crown on top of your implant is cracked, call Huckabee Dental right away!

A dental implant can’t fix itself and if you try to treat it yourself, you could end up causing more damage to your mouth.

Fixed Dentures

Have you lost an entire arch of teeth on the top or bottom of your mouth? Are you going to have your remaining teeth removed because they are too unhealthy to save? You may be able to replace them with fixed dentures, which are supported by dental implants.

Endosteal Dental Implants

When teeth are lost, the jaw bone can begin to dissolve or shrink because it is no longer needed to anchor the teeth. This shrinking could make it impossible to place regular root form implants or to wear dentures comfortably. An endosteal dental implant is able to strengthen the jaw and prevent future bone loss.

Subperiosteal Dental Implants

Subperiosteal dental implants are often used for patients who don’t want to (or are unable to) undergo a bone grafting procedure to rebuild the bone to get endosteal implants. This type of dental implant is underneath the gums but on top of the jawbone.

All-on-4 Dental Implants

The All-on-4 Dental Implants or “Teeth in a Day” solution is Huckabee Dental’s permanent missing teeth solution that looks and feels like a patient’s natural teeth. After consulting with Dr. Huckabee about how you envision your best new smile, your All-on-4 full dental implant bridge can be implanted using just four simple implants, all in one visit!

Using only four dental implants is a preferable and proven method for drastically reducing both installation and recovery time for many patients, as well as cost.

Traditional Dentures

For patients missing all their teeth, we offer traditional dentures to give you back the function, feel and appearance of your natural teeth. For optimal aesthetics, we also offer Valplast, flexible smile replacements for partial areas of missing teeth.

If you already have dentures, but hate the way they fit, we offer a dental implant retainment option for greater stability. We can even retro-fit your existing dentures to snap into place!

Full Mouth Reconstruction

Thanks to restorative dentistry, with the help of full mouth reconstruction, there are many options to restore your smile even if you have suffered extensive tooth loss.

Denture Stabilization

Are your existing dentures loose and causing you discomfort? At Huckabee Dental, our doctors can eliminate the problem of slippery dentures using dental implants. Once implants are placed, our Southlake restorative dentist will fit your dentures with attachments that allow the implants to hold your dentures firmly in place. No more sliding around and discomfort!
