New Patients: Your First Visit

Most of our new patients at Huckabee Dental have not been to the dentist for a while. But even if you’re up to date on your routine checkups and cleanings, regular preventive dental care is important!

The first time a new patient visits us at our Southlake dental practice, we will discuss your health history, past dental experiences, and any related anxieties you may have about dental care. To help us serve you best, we need to know what your expectations and needs are for treatment.

Urgent concerns, like pain or a broken tooth, will be addressed immediately!

We Don’t Rush Your Care

Please reserve approximately 90 minutes of your time for your first new patient visit with us. First, we will take a set of x-rays to provide a comprehensive view of your entire mouth, including the roots of your teeth and your jawbones.

A periodontal exam will follow to evaluate your gum health and to screen for gum recession. If your gums have no swelling or deep pockets, we will continue with a preventive cleaning. Finally, our doctors will determine whether you need any type of restorative treatment and discuss your options for dental care with you.

COVID-19 and Huckabee Dental

We are still seeing patients

We are taking all the necessary precautions recommended by the CDC and local health agencies in the DFW Area. In a small controlled environment such as our offices it is easy to quickly and swiftly implement new emerging protocols as those recommendations become available. We will continue to monitor the situation as it evolves.

When you arrive call 817-329-4746 to inform us you’re in the parking lot.  We will text you when your room is available. You will then simply walk in and we’ll show you to your treatment room.


No-Fee Rescheduling

There will be no fee for rescheduling or canceling an appointment.  However, let us know as soon as possible so we can staff the office appropriately.  We do request that any patients with symptoms associated with COVID 19 (fever, cough, difficulty breathing, etc) or been in close contact recently with anyone with these symptoms please notify us so that we can reschedule your appointment. For those patients who fall into a higher risk category (elderly or pre-existing conditions) for severe responses to COVID-19 who would like to reschedule their appointment, we please ask that you notify our office as soon as you have made this decision.


Social Distancing and other measures

We are temperature testing all staff twice daily for fever.  We also temperature test all patients. Anyone with a temperature above 100 will be sent home.
In this rapidly evolving situation we will continue to closely monitor guidelines and make changes to our current response as needed.  Non-clinical areas have increased disinfecting measures put in place At Cross Timbers Dental the health and well-being of our patients and team member has always been of upmost important. We understand the concerns and uncertainty surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and are committed to being responsive to the needs of our community as the situation evolves and more information is provided.
