Why Did You Want to
Become a Dentist?
In his earlier years, Dr. Baker had a good friend that was a dentist, and being exposed to the work inspired him to follow in his footsteps. Today, he’s still passionate about working with people in need and helping them both look and feel better through their smile! Dentistry can help someone feel more confident than ever before, and it’s always rewarding for him to witness that transformation firsthand.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
After graduating from the University of Utah in 1994, Dr. Baker pursued his dental doctorate at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was the president of his dental school class during both his junior and senior years. He also completed his GPR at Carolinas Medical Centre in Charlotte, NC, which is a Level 1 trauma hospital. During his time as a dentist, he has participated in and coordinated several dental mission trips to Jamaica. Before relocating to the Southlake area in 2010, he managed and owned dental offices in the Las Vegas area.
As for continuing education, Dr. Baker completed an Implant Dentistry Continuum in 2017, as well as state-of-the-art training through the International Dental Implant Association.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Baker and his wife have been married for almost 30 years, and they have two children named Hayley and Ethan. I his spare time, he is an avid runner and Peloton cyclist – in fact, he’s done six marathons and even finished the 2018 Texas Ironman Triathlon! He also loves sports (especially football, basketball, and baseball) and dogs. He has an awesome Boxer named Kona, who enjoys long walks alongside him and his wife.
